Am Kolel’s Sanctuary Retreat Center, November 14-16, 2014
Author, storyteller and teacher Yitzhak Buxbaum will be the scholar-in-residence, November 14-16, 2014 at Am Kolel’s Sanctuary Retreat Center in the Agricultural Reserve of upper Montgomery County, MD. Yitzhak has devoted 30 years to bringing Jews closer to the beauty of Judaism and has performed and taught all over the world. The weekend retreat includes learning, meals, and prayer.
The program theme is “Exploring our Eastern European Jewish roots through stories, music, food and humor. Yitzchak will share “The Wit and Wisdom of Rabbi Naftali of Ropshitz” — one of the most original Hasidic rebbes, who was both a Torah genius and a comedian. Rabbi David Shneyer, musician and spiritual leader, and Debbie Amster, wellness educator and native Yiddish speaker will also present.
The retreat begins Friday at 7 pm and concludes Sunday morning at 11:00 am. All Saturday only option available.
