Trip Leaders
This special trip combines the savvy of Shorashim — a time-tested provider of Taglit-Birthright Israel trips — with the spiritual dynamism of ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal.
Our journey takes place in late July and will be led by Rabbis Ilan Glazer and Chana Leslie Glazer, as well as Yoni Ben Tsedef, a seasoned Israeli guide.
Rabbi Ilan Glazer is an environmental educator, storyteller, professional Jewish drummer, sacred chant leader, and ALEPH Hashpa’ah-certified spiritual director. Rabbi Ilan, who received rabbinic ordination from ALEPH in 2012, leads spirit-filled classes and services wherever he goes, and enjoys wrestling with the Divine.
Rabbi Chana Leslie Glazer is a writer, coach and spiritual mentor, interfaith community organizer and teacher, with a penchant for yoga, dance, meditation and chant. A history buff and former international journalist, she has a deep love for travel and the mysteries it offers. Rabbi Chana Leslie was ordained by the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2013.
This adventure-loving couple works together as a team, serving as co-rabbis of Beth Sholom Synagogue of Memphis, TN, and jointly serving as the Taglit-Birthright Israel and Youth Outreach Directors for ALEPH. This will be the second Israel trip the couple has led together, and the third such trip Rabbi Ilan will have led for ALEPH.
