We encourage you to join in on the 6th annual Weekend of Twinning: Standing Up for the Other, sponsored by the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding. The Weekend of Twinning is an annual initiative organized by the FFEU, in cooperation with the World Jewish Congress and the Islamic Society of North America, that encourages Muslims and Jews, Mosques, and Synagogues, Imams and Rabbis, to hold joint programming with the goal of building ties of communication, reconciliation, and cooperation between Muslims and Jews.

Or HaLev in Northern New Jersey will be participating; the new, ALEPH affiliated havurah has already developed a relationship with the local Muslim Community. The photograph at left was taken during Or HaLev’s first social justice action of the new year, working with a Muslim organization to prepare and distribute food to the homeless.

This brief video describes what the weekend is all about.

If you do end up holding a program, make sure to snap some pictures with your cell phone and email a copy to marketing@aleph.org (with all the appropriate identifying information attached, and we will share your good news with the world.)
