Shavuot: This Year’s Revelation

May 14 – 17, 2013, at the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center. The leadership of this  historic retreat includes Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi with co-leader and wife Eve Ilsen, Davvenen led by Rabbi Marcia Prager, Director and Dean of the ALEPH Rabbinic Ordination Program and Hazzan Jack Kessler, Director of the ALEPH Cantorial Program. These outstanding Jewish Renewal pioneers will be supported by a cadre of new leaders from the ALEPH Rabbinic Program.

ALEPH Alliance for Jewish Renewal is gratified to reconnect on programming with our old friends at Elat Chayyim, and Elat  Chayyim is thrilled to welcome these leading Renewers of Judaism today to Isabella Freedman for Shavuot. Reb Zalman and Rabbi Marcia Prager have worked tirelessly for decades to build a Jewish movement that embraces the use of instrumental music as a spiritual tool on Shabbat and Holidays; and is committed to holding space for an egalitarian prayer community that includes all genders and often inspiration from the spiritual paths of the rest of our human family while remaining rooted in Jewish tradition and practice.

Seekers can not only receive the Torah on Shavuot , but can taste and live it at Isabella Freedman. All meals are strictly kosher and supervised, and an eruv allows for enjoyment of the entire facility, woods and lake in respect for all streams/levels of Jewish observance during Shabbat and Holidays.
